Construction of the GoodLeaf factory by Espace Construction with FFM

Description

GoodLeaf, an innovative company in the field of vertical farming, has undertaken the construction of a factory dedicated to indoor agricultural production, marking a step forward towards sustainable and efficient agriculture.

Espace Construction, the general contractor on the project, was tasked with realizing this vision by building a facility that not only meets the specific technical requirements of vertical farming but is also safe and accessible.

To achieve these objectives, Espace Construction called on Fer Forgé Montréal for its expertise in the manufacturing and installation of worked metals.

Client Goals

  • Create infrastructure suitable for vertical farming, maximizing the use of space while ensuring optimal resource management.
  • Ensure the safety and accessibility of the facility for personnel, with clear escape routes and easy access to all levels of the vertical farm.
  • Integrate durable and sturdy structures to support farm equipment and facilities.

Work carried out by Fer Forgé Montréal

Manufacturing and installation of steel service stairs
Robust staircases have been installed to facilitate access to the different production areas and equipment, ensuring smooth circulation for staff.

Galvanized steel emergency stairs
To ensure staff safety in the event of an emergency, galvanized steel fire escapes were installed, providing weather and corrosion resistant escape routes.

Galvanized steel roof access stairs
Stairs leading to the roof were also installed to allow access to these areas, essential for maintenance and inspection of the infrastructure.

Fabrication and installation of steel structure reinforcements
To ensure the durability and stability of the installation, structural steel reinforcements were designed and integrated, thus supporting heavy equipment and installations specific to vertical farming.
