Worked metals are our specialty. Whether it's design, manufacturing or installation, we can turn your dream into reality. We offer the services of an architectural designer and an engineer to design workshop plans according to your needs and tastes, while respecting building codes and heritage requirements.
Our superior quality products are custom-made in our workshop and our passion for excellence is also reflected in careful installation, according to best practices and the protection of architectural heritage. We hold a license issued by the Régie du logement and are certified by the Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB).
Our shop drawings are made from your architectural or engineering plans. If details are missing from the plans, we will complete the design according to the rules of the art and according to the best industry standards.
We can also present you with a proposal for worked metals based on a photo or sketch. Drawings can be checked and sealed by an engineer if necessary.
All our products are custom-made by a team of passionate experts who are committed to a job well done. Their extraordinary knowledge, skills and experience contribute to achieving excellence. Our factory and welders are certified by the Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB).
Once manufacturing is completed by our team, we can also offer you interesting options depending on the product. Galvanizing and painting can, for example, be carried out by our hand-picked partners.
Our team of experienced installers carries out the assembly-assembly of the metalwork parts on site. Our exterior installations very often require the use of a truck crane while indoors, lifting devices are regularly used.
Unless the iron is truly at the “end of its life”, it is almost always possible to carry out a repair. The correct diagnosis is essential in order to establish the correct prognosis and appropriate treatment.
In this regard, Fer Forgé Montréal offers you welding and oxy-fuel cutting solutions thanks to its mobile welding unit. Oxycutting is a process for cutting metals, by localized but continuous oxidation, using a jet of pure oxygen.
It is possible to restore almost any wrought iron piece, whether it is a straight or spiral staircase, a fence, a railing with or without embellishments or even a balcony support structure. In fact, almost everything can be restored. Fer Forgé Montréal offers simple and effective solutions, including an on-site catering service.
When a railing has a lot of detail and flourishes, it may be beneficial to do a factory restoration instead. First, you must uninstall the damaged parts and secure the premises if necessary, either by barricading or installing temporary ramps.
Subsequently, the ramps and guardrails are transported to the factory where they will be sandblasted. This sandblasting technique, known as “sandblast”, removes all traces of rust and paint.
During a factory restoration, if any repairs or modifications are required, these will be carried out in our factory by our qualified welders. Once this work is completed, it will be possible to galvanize the iron. This process makes it possible to substantially slow down the oxidation of iron. After galvanizing, the part can be left as is (metallic gray finish) or painted.
In the latter case, however, it is important to clean the galvanized iron well to optimize the adhesion of the paint and thus obtain a smooth finish. The bottom line is that whether your iron is galvanized or not, baked paint is a good choice for steel.
